Diagnosis of localised bearing faults with PQMF filter banks

This paper proposes an algorithm for on-line detection of localized faults in rolling element bearings (REB). This procedure is developed for an end of line quality test stand. Proposed algorithm uses a Pseudo-QMF Cosine Modulation Filter Bank. The last one is processed into a multi-level analysis for a detail decomposition of the (f,Δf) plane. Then, kurtosis is calculated on each sub-bands. For testing the viability of the proposed scheme, the procedure is firstly processed on models and then applied on real case.
